Before anyone gets any SILLY ideas, these are pics from Azhar/Voviana wedding reception held last July (my brother), not pics of my wedding/engagement/merisik atau yg sewaktu dgn nya.
There will be pics of me (as an innocent bystander jek ye, not as the celebrated person) as well as the rest of the family, so again, the reception is not about me, but my brother and his bride.
I do appreciate all wishes and congrats for the happy couple, though

An ice storm hit the sleepy town of West Lafayette, as a result, thousands were cut off from electricity and any contact. The temperature continued to drop lower and lower. By next morning, everything, everything was literally frozen.
The plus side? The ice crystal formed the most exquisite scenery one could only dream off from a winter wonderland.
Me? I had fun reigning as the ice queen. Hah!

hayati exposed

hayati was my housemate/roommate for the past three years. later, when we all moved into the dorms, she becomes my wingmate/floormate. so, after all those dirty dishes and bad cookings that I had to endure (or rather, she had to endure *ehem*) it's only fair that she obliged to my request; be my model for the day.
initially I wanted to shoot her in her most natural element, but the moment I press the trigger button, she'll be as stiff as a frozen stick. like a bad modelling coach, I started to instruct her, to smile a lil' bit wider, to hold that gaze a lil' bit longer and so forth...
but of course, we, the engineering students have that ability to catch up really fast with things that isn't 'engineering-like' so, she started to get a hang of it, and everything just clicked into places (pun intended)
the locations are picked based on its significance to both of us
1-5: this is in front of the engineering building, this is where the subject overcomes her stiffness in front of the camera, this is where a guy silently smiled at the corner, looking over at the two petite girls taking pictures; one modelling, another one sounding like a bad case of a modelling coach.
6-9: this cobbled path is where the two girls usually pass through everytime they are late to class. this is also where the coach found out that her subject can jump really, really high.
10-11: this orangey staircase leads to the office where the two girls work to get money to shop for their moms, and sometimes for themselves too why is it orange? beats me, but it never fails to color my day, each time I pass through it

gempitafest '04 - in the making I

this is the beginning of the gempitafest series.
gempitafest - started of as a battle of the band, gempitafest now becomes an event for all Malaysian musicians to come and celebrate the music. a total of 9 bands came to uMich and played their heart out. as many as 10 universities from all over the State participated and made the night something to remember.

we celebrated katie's birthday and throw a small surprise party. the six of us hid in her hse while she was out, and so excited we were, we forgot the simple rule of surprise; being quiet and secretive. so she got back, saw our shadows at the window and heard indecipherable murmurs of human voice, and so she thought there were thieves. the moment she opened the door, we jumped on her, and she only had her handbag ready to swing and whack any supposed-thief.
heh, seriously katie, a handbag?
well, the pics are from katie's digital camcorder. she showed us the functions, and everybody was eager to try it out. and so, the narcissist in all of us surfaced and we took a lot (and I do mean A LOT!!) of self-posed pics, hehehehe. hmmm, well yeah, for the love of self vanity!
